As you approach Calonge, the local village at the bottom of the hillside, El Mirador can be seen above; a short drive on made up roads will take you to the gated entrance where you will be met by our local representative, Janet Gomez, an English lady married to a Catalan who both look after the house, pool and gardens and will make sure your stay is everything that you would expect.

The electric gates open to allow secure access to the house up a short drive and into a large turning space and double garage.

The view is quite breathtaking. A flight of steps takes you to the front door and terrace with pool, barbecue, pergola and sundeck all on this level with plenty of sunchairs, loungers, and an outdoor eating area overlooking the sea.

Through the front door into a lobby, and on into the dining room with its large pine table and 8 refectory chairs. To the right is a large round or 'Rotunde' lounge with Rattan furniture, stereo surround sound system, Sky TV, and plenty of occasional furniture - making for a very comfortable cool room. French windows lead to the terraces, pool, pergola and sea views, and views across Palamos.

El Mirador has a fully-fitted kitchen with integral fridge freezer,washing machine and tumble dryer, dishwasher, and plenty of glasses both glass and pool-friendly for alfresco dining.

A large double bedroom on this floor has twin pine beds and a large ensuite with bath and shower over. There is a guest safe in the built-in wardrobe.

Stairs lead from this floor to the first floor with a further 3 bedrooms and a large bathroom. Bedroom two has a large Queen-size pine bed, built-in wardrobes and panoramic sea and hill top views. A private door leads to the roof terrace; chairs and tables are available here to sit and take in the views.

Bedroom three has twin pine beds, built-in wardrobes and French doors leading onto the roof terrace.

Bedroom four is a round room with views all round and a French door leading to the terrace. This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, with shower cubicle and dressing area. There is a large pine Queen-size bed, built-in wardrobes and colour Sky TV.

This floor also has a large bathroom with shower over bath, dressing area and views out to sea. The villa also boasts a separate downstairs cloakroom.

El Mirador sleeps eight with the potential for a cot or two small children on camp beds.

The villa has oil-fired central heating and an open fire - but heating is usually only needed from December to early March.

El Mirador has an extensive poolside sundeck and patio terrace, with a purpose-built pergola with built-in BBQ chimney. Table and chairs for 8 are to be found here for alfresco dining, a cool place to eat lunch and watch the many yachts and cruise ships that pass by.

The pergola has a sink, water and food preparation area with interior lighting for night-time use. The poolside and driveway are all illuminated at night giving El Mirador a special evening romance.

This Costa Brava villa is not overlooked by any other property; El Mirador overlooks all the other villas in this area known as the Viscounty de Cabañas.
